I was born in B.C., Canada and moved to Montreal, Quebec when I was five, where I went to grade school and high school in French, allowing me to have two mother tongues.
I completed my Bachelor of Science with great distinction in soil and water conservation at the Macdonald Campus of McGill University (Montreal, Canada) in 1996. I then obtained a research grant and continued with a Master of Science in soil physics, which I completed in the spring of 1998 (transcripts available upon request). I worked that summer as the team leader for FGA Consultants (Fredericton, N.B.) on the construction site of a natural gas pipeline, monitoring soil compaction with a nuclear densimeter and coordinating with the contractor personnel (reference available upon request). I then moved to Germany in the fall of 1998, and initially worked on an organic farm to learn the fundamentals of the language. In 1999, I started working in the hydrology department at Wald & Corbe Beratende Ingenieure, where I built watershed models using CAD, GIS and hydrological modelling tools (reference available upon request). This involved compiling all of the required data (precipitation, land use, geology, topography, drain pipes etc.) as well as creating geo-referenced maps. 

I started translating in 2006, general texts at first, but it did not take long for me to find more specialized work. My first projects in the field of agriculture were translations of pesticide registration dossiers in collaboration with the translation agency Agrooh.
I then proceeded to translate for various large agricultural manufacturer through specialized translation agencies (e.g. AgroLingua, Agrar Übersetzer, IDEM), translating countless operating manuals, Power Point presentations and training documents for soil tillage implements, seeders, sprayers, fertiliser spreaders, slurry tankers, ISOBUS terminals, GPS steering systems, sensor systems and much more.

In 2010, I was contacted by the Springer Science Verlag regarding the translation of 2 university level textbooks (Hydrogeologie by Hölting/Coldewey and Lehrbuch der Bodenkunde by Scheffer/Schachtschabel, both scheduled to be published in 2016). I translated both books over a period of 4 years (about 2 years each) in close collaboration with the authors, which greatly contributed to my expertise.
Since two years, I also take care of all German-English translations for Müller-Elektronik GmbH (www.mueller-elektronik.de).

I am very meticulous and methodical in my work, always deliver on time, and use modern translation software (Trados and Across) to increase consistency in the terminology. Over my many years of translating, I have accumulated vast translation memories and extensive glossaries, which increase the quality and speed of my work.

I translate only into my mother tongue, English, mainly from German but occasionally also from French.
